Charters to the British Virgin Islands

Everyone visiting the British Virgin Islands from the US Virgin Islands must have a valid passport within 6 months of expiration. Additionally, we ask you submit us photos of your passports at least 48 hours before your departure. This requirement ensures prompt entry and exit to and from the British territory.

Most trips to the British Virgin Islands use between $300 and $400 in fuel costs.

Lunch is not included in the cost of your charter. However, we will bring you to one of the many fabulous lunch spots sprinkled around the islands like Pirates Bight, Soggy Dollar Bar, or Foxy's on Jost Van Dyke.

All passengers entering the British Virgin Islands must check-in with the BVI Customs and Port Authority. On our charter, your Captain will enter the customs office with everyone's passports while you remain on the vessel. This process usually takes between 20 to 60 minutes. We strive to arrive at the customs office between 8:30 and 9:00 AM.

When returning to the USVI, all passengers must disembark from the vessel at the Cruz Bay customs office on St. John. We must return between 4:15 and 5:00 PM with the process taking between 20 to 60 minutes.

Upon check-in, you will be charged $80 per person. These fees go directly to the BVI government and USVI port authority to cover all environmental fees, national park fees, cruising permits, and docking fees.

Bonus Time may carry up to 10 passengers (and one Captain) to the British Virgin Islands!

Although not mandatory, it is highly encouraged you tip your Captain 20% of the base cost of charter to the British Virgin Islands if he/she provided excellent service. Bonus Time has a cooler stocked with plenty of ice and bottled water for your day in the BVIs. Please feel free to bring any additional snacks, beverages, or alcohol you might want for your charter - we just ask you refrain from bringing any glass on board!

Full refunds are made if cancellations are confirmed with at least 48 hours notice prior to reservation date. Contact us by phone or email to inquire about cancellation. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice and No-Shows will result in forfeiture of payment. Customers will receive a full refund or an opportunity to rebook on alternate date(s) in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances. Passengers who forget their valid passport may cause a USVI-only itinerary with no refunds given for additional BVI payments.

Bonus Time departs from American Yacht Harbor on St. Thomas with options for pick-up on St. John. Any passengers staying on St. Thomas will meet us at our storefront location within Red Hook Dive Center at the marina. Plenty of parking is available. Passengers staying on St. John may opt for a free pick-up on Cruz Bay beach in knee high water or an additional fee at the Port Authority dock in Cruz Bay.

Valid Passport, Reef Safe Sunscreen **NO SPRAY SUNSCREEN PLEASE**, Hats, Rashguards, Towels, Sunglasses, Any drinks or snacks you might like for your day on the water.

Our BVI charters depart at 8:30 AM from your selected departure point. The charter concludes approximately between 4:30 and 5:00 PM after check-in at the Cruz Bay Customs office on St. John.

Bonus Time does not have a restroom on board. However, we will be making plenty of stops at locations with clean and functional bathrooms throughout the day. Or if all else fails, you can always use the ocean!
