Frequently Asked Questions about our day charters in the virgin islands
Got questions? We’ve got answers. Here’s everything you need to know before you hop aboard for an unforgettable day on the water.
Fuel is not included and will be charged based on how far we travel. We’ll give you an estimate before we go so there are no surprises.
We don’t have a bathroom on the boat, but you’ll have access to clean marina restrooms before and after your trip. And don’t worry—while we’re out, we’re never far from a land-based restroom if needed. Honestly, it’s a much more comfortable option than a tiny boat toilet anyway!
We offer complimentary pick-up and drop-off at American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook (St. Thomas) and the National Park Visitor Center in Cruz Bay (St. John). We also offer pick-ups at Sapphire Marina on St. Thomas and The Westin on St. John for an additional fee.
Please note: The Westin does not allow use of their dock—pick-up there will be beachside, with water typically knee to waist deep. This option is available for Westin guests only.
Absolutely—we welcome cruise ship guests all the time! While we don’t offer pick-up directly from the cruise port, it’s a quick and easy taxi ride to our departure point at American Yacht Harbor in Red Hook, St. Thomas. Just be sure to give yourself a little buffer time to get there comfortably.
A private charter is one of the best ways to experience the Virgin Islands during your stop—more freedom, more fun, and way more memorable than a crowded group tour.
Gratuity is never expected, but always appreciated! If you had a great time out on the water, a standard tip is around 20% of the charter price. Your captain puts in a lot of work behind the scenes—planning your day, checking weather and sea conditions, prepping the boat, and making sure everything runs smoothly—often starting days in advance. A tip is a great way to say thanks for all the effort that goes into making your trip unforgettable.
We’re licensed for up to 10 guests on Bonus Time (29′ Power Catamaran) and 12 guests on Down Time (32′ Power Catamaran). The base charter cost covers up to six with each passenger after incurring an additional $50 fee.
Cancellations made at least 72 hours in advance are fully refundable. If the weather forces us to cancel, you’ll get a full refund or the option to reschedule—your call.
Island weather can change fast! A passing shower usually isn’t a problem, but if the captain determines it’s unsafe to head out, we’ll reschedule or refund you—your safety comes first.
A little breeze is part of island life, but we always adjust our route to make the ride as smooth and enjoyable as possible. If it’s too rough, we’ll talk through options with you.
We provide coolers, ice, and bottled water on board. You’re welcome to bring your own snacks, drinks, or even cocktails—just no glass, please. Lunch is up to you, but we’re happy to stop at one of the awesome floating restaurants or beach bars along the way.
Sunscreen (reef-safe if you have it), sunglasses, a towel, a swimsuit, and whatever snacks or drinks you’d like. We’ll take care of the rest!
