The British Virgin Islands are a chain of over 60 islands and cays, each offering its own slice of paradise. From remote beaches and lively beach bars to epic snorkeling and world-class scenery, it’s no wonder the BVIs are one of our most popular charter destinations.

Best of the British Virgin Islands

Most of our full-day trips focus on Norman Island, Jost Van Dyke, and the surrounding cays—giving you a full day of fun, snorkeling, and bar-hopping without stretching your schedule. If you want to venture farther out to spots like Virgin Gorda, The Baths, or the eastern islands, you’ll need to book an extended day charter. These areas are worth the trip, but they’re always subject to wind and sea conditions—your captain will help determine the best plan for your adventure.

Tortola

As the largest island in the BVIs, Tortola blends local charm with natural beauty. Cane Garden Bay is a favorite for its beach bars and calm waters, while Smuggler’s Cove and Brewers Bay offer more secluded vibes and great snorkeling. It’s a great stop if you want a mix of quiet and lively.

Norman Island

Often called the real-life inspiration for Treasure Island, Norman is all about exploration. Snorkel through the famous Caves, dive into the coral at The Indians or Pelican Island, then relax at Pirates Bight, a beachfront bar and restaurant with laid-back Caribbean vibes. For a wilder scene, raft up at the legendary floating bar, Willy T.

Jost Van Dyke

Jost is beach bar heaven. From the legendary Soggy Dollar Bar in White Bay to the world-famous Foxy’s in Great Harbour, it’s the ultimate stop for sipping Painkillers in the sand. The nearby Bubbly Pool offers a natural wave-fed splash zone, and the views are just as unforgettable as the drinks.

Virgin Gorda

A little farther afield but well worth the trip, Virgin Gorda offers everything from scenic hikes to luxury resorts. The North Sound is a favorite for yachties, with calm anchorages and beautiful views. Don’t miss Saba Rock, a boutique island resort and bar perfect for a laid-back lunch stop.

The Baths

Located at the southern end of Virgin Gorda, The Baths are one of the most iconic spots in the BVIs. Massive granite boulders form tide pools, hidden grottos, and winding passages that are just as fun to explore as they are to photograph. It’s a must-see on any extended charter.

Cooper Island

A quiet favorite with incredible snorkeling and a laid-back resort atmosphere. The Cooper Island Beach Club is a great place to grab lunch or a rum cocktail while taking in the views. The nearby reef offers excellent snorkeling, especially for beginners.

Peter Island

Peter Island is a peaceful escape, perfect for guests looking to slow down and soak up the scenery. Drop anchor in Deadman’s Bay, where the calm, clear waters are great for snorkeling and a relaxing swim. Head ashore to the Drunken Pelican Beach Bar, which sits beside a beautiful marina and boutique shop—complete with sweeping views back toward Tortola.

Ginger Island

Uninhabited and wild, Ginger Island is known for its clear water, steep walls, and excellent diving. While not always on the itinerary, it’s a great stop for experienced snorkelers or divers when conditions allow.

Salt Island & the RMS Rhone

Salt Island is home to one of the Caribbean’s most famous dive sites—the RMS Rhone, a 19th-century mail shipwreck that’s now a thriving underwater reef. Even snorkelers can view parts of the wreck in shallow water. It’s both a historic site and a marine sanctuary.

Above the surface, the island has its own fascinating story. You can walk through the remains of a small village once home to the island’s salt-harvesting community. Though no longer inhabited, the salt ponds and crumbling stone structures offer a quiet, haunting glimpse into BVI history—and a peaceful place to explore between snorkel sessions.

Sandy Spit & Sandy Cay

Just off Jost Van Dyke, these tiny islands are the stuff of castaway dreams—white sand, turquoise water, and not much else. They’re ideal for a swim, snorkel, or a beachside photo shoot. A perfect “quick stop” between other destinations.

Scrub Island

Home to a private resort and marina, Scrub Island offers a bit of luxury in a tucked-away setting. Great for a scenic cruise-by or a lunch stop when you’re looping through the eastern BVIs.

Marina Cay

Once known for its cozy vibe and beach bar, Marina Cay is slowly making a comeback. It’s a quiet anchorage with great views and a nice spot to take a break on longer trips.

Guana Island

One of the more exclusive islands in the BVIs, Guana offers pristine beaches and excellent snorkeling—especially around Monkey Point, where the water is crystal-clear and full of life. It’s peaceful, private, and feels completely untouched.

Chartering to the British Virgin Islands from St. Thomas or St. John

Our standard full-day charter hits guest favorites like Jost Van Dyke, Norman Island, and the surrounding cays—perfect for a full day of fun, snorkeling, and beach bar hopping.
